1. Our commitment
Medical Assurance Limited is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards.
2. Standards
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. WCAG 2.1 explains how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities and more user-friendly for everyone.
3. User-controlled accessibility settings
Every page on this website includes a floating accessibility control (the gold figure-icon at the bottom-left of the screen). It opens a panel with the following user-adjustable preferences. All selections are stored in your browser and persist across visits.
Text size
Four preset sizes (small, medium, large, extra-large). The whole site uses a relative type scale, so adjusting text size scales every heading, paragraph, and label proportionally.
High contrast
Boosts contrast across the site: pure white body text, brighter gold accent (#ffd966), stronger borders, and increased contrast on imagery.
Reduce motion
Disables non-essential transitions, reveal-on-scroll animations, and parallax effects. Defaults to your operating-system prefers-reduced-motion setting on first visit.
Underline links
Forces underlines on every link in body content for visitors who rely on underlines (rather than colour alone) to identify clickable elements.
4. Built-in accessibility features
- Skip-to-content link visible on first focus, letting keyboard users bypass the navigation.
- Keyboard navigation for every interactive element, including the mobile menu, the M.A.P features carousel (Arrow / Home / End keys), and all forms.
- Visible focus rings on every interactive element (2px solid brand outline, 2px offset).
- Single
<h1>per page with logical heading hierarchy throughout. aria-current="location"on the navigation anchor matching the in-view section.- Mobile menu implements a focus trap and restores focus to its toggle on close.
- Form labels are visible and properly associated; required fields and consent are clearly marked.
- Image placeholders and decorative images have appropriate
alttext oraria-hiddenas appropriate. - Native HTML elements (
<details>,<dialog>-pattern, semantic landmarks) are used in preference to scripted re-implementations.
5. Known limitations
We are aware of the following areas where conformance may be incomplete and are working to address them:
- Some legacy or third-party content (for example, embedded videos or PDFs) may not yet meet AA contrast or caption requirements. We are auditing and remediating.
- Form submission is currently stubbed; once live, we will ensure error states and confirmation messaging meet screen-reader expectations.
